It regulated certifications for almost all levels of project managers, be it a fresher or a highly experienced professional. Two of the most recommended certification exams that are regulated under this institute are the PMP and the CAPM Exam. The eligibility details for both these certification courses have been mentioned below for your reference.


Eligibility Details for CAPM Exam:

In order to become eligible for this entry level certification exam by PMI, one is required to fulfill all the below mentioned criteria:

·         The applicant must have successfully completed high school or any other higher educational qualification.

·         The applicant also must have completed a minimum of 1500 hours of professional experience in the field of project management. However, if the person does not have the specified experience, they could complete 23 hours of formal CAPM study in order to become eligible for the exam.

Eligibility Details for PMP Exam:

In order to become eligible for the PMP Exam, there are two separate sets of eligibility criteria. If your profile fits in either one of them, both of which are as mentioned below, you can appear for the certification exam.

·         Applicants with a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification can appear for the PMP Exam only after having a minimum of 5 years of professional experience with 7500 hours of working. In addition to it, successfully completing 35 hours of formal PMP exam prep is also mandatory.

·         Applicants with a 4-year degree of a higher qualification become eligible for the PMP exam after successfully gaining 3 years of work experience with 4500 hours of working. Successfully completing 35 hours of formal PMP prep is mandatory for this category as well.
